Warum der Preis unseres Ring Sling aus 100 % europäischem Leinen im Jahr 2023 steigen wird ?

It is not to make more turnover, it is to stay afloat and continue the adventure with you.

The prices of Ring Sling in 100% European linen will increase by 20% on February 1st, 2023. This decision has been carefully considered and discussed for several weeks within the team Joli Nous.

So we want to talk to you in an open and transparent way. It is important for us to charge fair prices, without overcharging, without overstocking & without overproducing. Today, our margins just cover our development, creation, manufacturing, management, communication and logistics costs.

Since the launch of Joli Nousour 100% linen baby sling models have not changed in price: 99 CHF. Our goal since day one is to create a Ring Sling sewn in Switzerland, in beautiful GOTS & OEKO-TEX certified materials, of exceptional quality, at a very affordable price. But today this price is no longer fair for us, for our linen models. Our manufacturing costs have exploded. After 2 years of sanitary crisis and a war in Ukraine, we have to adapt to a new textile reality.

What happened?

Three factors have a strong impact Joli Nous and its prices.

1. Multiplied raw material costs

The price of the European linen that we use for our Ring Sling has soared in only 12 months, it has doubled. There are many economic, political and social reasons for this, but here is one main factor that has had a strong impact on us: the growing demand from fashion giants over the last few months (Joli Nous), on its own small scale, does not make the weight!

As you know, to make a Ring Sling, you need a large amount of raw material + 2.2 meters of fabric. The impact of the price increase on each sewn piece is therefore even more significant.

2. Soaring gas & oil prices

The COVID19 and then the war in Ukraine have also had a very significant impact on the increase in the price of textile raw materials (but also food, agro-industrial, mineral, etc.). Soaring gas and oil prices are affecting the international economy as a whole (explosion in production, manufacturing, maintenance, storage, transport prices, etc.). The vice-president of Swissoil said about the gas supply: "It is an energy crisis of unprecedented proportions". These exceptional events have affected raw resources that were already very fragile and the situation does not seem to be stabilizing.

3. The lack of "volume effect

We don't have a "volume effect" because we produce in small quantities. Smaller brands are therefore even more affected by these many price increase factors because of their low production volume.

The cumulative increase in raw materials, road transport and lack of volume ultimately affects the entire production and distribution chain at Joli Nous. For these reasons, on February 1st 2023, the price of our flagship product, the baby carrier in 100% European linen, will increase to 119 CHF. The collection in 100% organic cotton will remain at the price of 99 CHF.
