Essentials for holidays with children

Planning a vacation with baby can sometimes be a real headache, especially when it comes to thinking about everything he needs. When going on vacation with a baby, it's essential to pack a few essentials to guarantee our Mini's comfort and safety. With the help of our community, we've put together a non-exhaustive but, in our opinion, practical and effective list!

Travel documents

First of all, you need to think about travel documents. Make sure you have valid identification for your baby, as well as his or her insurance card. If there are specific needs to consider depending on your destination, it's also important to have your child's vaccination record to hand.

Hygiene

Next, it's crucial to think about what you'll need for your baby's hygiene. A complete toiletry kit is a must-have, with a supply of diapers and wipes, skin cream, cleanser, toothbrush and toothpaste (from the first tooth, right?), his vidatmine D, saline solution and high factor sun cream. And if you're planning to travel to a hot destination, it's a good idea to bring a water spray to keep your baby cool.

The first-aid kit

Unfortunately, even on vacation, we're never immune to little aches and pains and viruses! So don't forget to pack your medical essentials: a thermometer, paracetamol, bandages, cream for burns and stings, homeopathic granules and tweezers (they can come in handy too!).

Meal accessories

As far as feeding accessories are concerned, it's advisable to take your usual bottles (children can be complicated in this respect), a thermos flask and milk adapted to your baby's age and needs. It's also important to remember that your baby's eating habits should be maintained during the vacations...with a few minor deviations allowed.

Clothing

When it comes to clothing, it's important to think about the season and the activities planned. Make sure you have enough spare clothes if you can't do laundry on site. A sleeping bag or diapers for rest periods and at night. If you're planning to take part in water activities, remember to pack a swimsuit or UV protection clothing, a cap or hat to protect your baby's head, sunglasses, waterproof diapers for swimming and water shoes to protect feet.

Accessories on the move

To make getting around easier, you may find it useful to have a stroller and/or baby carrier, depending on your preferences and planned activities.

The stroller can come in handy for naps in restaurants, on the beach and on walks.

The baby carrier allows you to enjoy hands-free activities with your siblings, while keeping baby close to you. A hands-free kit that's a must-have on vacation. And, between you and me, it's a must-have on the plane!

A changing mat is also very practical, so you can change your child anywhere in the most hygienic way possible.

Other

Finally, there are a few other things you shouldn't forget, such as a cuddly toy (never forget!), a baby monitor or an app to keep an eye on your baby from a distance if necessary.

In short, preparing for a vacation with a baby requires a little more organization and planning. But with this list, you'll be able to make sure you have everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable vacation with your baby. And remember, your baby is right where you are. Make the most of it, because going on vacation with your children means creating unforgettable memories! And as the saying goes, "we only have 18 summers to spend with our children".

NB: It's important to note that this list may vary depending on your vacation destination, your baby's age and his or her specific needs. Don't hesitate to consult other parents or specialized websites to help you prepare your trip with peace of mind.
